We started as a dream to create something that could contribute to the improvement of the Tanzanian community and to provide learning for students and professionals from Tanzania and abroad.

Ruth Nesje and her husband Odd had since 1984 been working with development projects in Tanzania. The dream came true and in 2008 Tanzania’s President Jakaya Kikwete put down the ground stone to celebrate the opening of the center.

Today TICC is used by students from 10 Norwegian universities and by institutions and companies from many countries. The students do practice in the local communities where they contribute to health, education, social development and improvement of infrastructure

TICC and mama Rutie has gained a unique position in Tanzania and are highly respected for their contribution to the local community and for the role as bridge builders between Tanzania and Scandinavia.
