TICC’s mission: To make a difference – to create something new in the world of competence development, community development and social entrepreneurship by connecting people across borders, combining knowledge, experience and co-create a new model for regional development. Everything we do is connected to the UN Millennium Development Goals (MDG) and since 2016 to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Since 2008 Tanga International Competence Centre (TICC) has become a center for developed remote health services to the population of Tanga making use of Norwegian nursing students within a socio-economic marginalized setting. This joint 10 years effort will be celebrated with an academic conference. We focus upon the interface between the experience of intercultural/ international nursing and cross professional learning environment.

Within this decade health care services and health promotion initiatives has emerged; interconnected within focused areas; strengthen household unite through socio – economic initiatives, maternal and children health, mental health, disabilities, school health.

These community initiatives have emerged within the framework of access for all, embedded within the development goals and sustainable development goals. The conference draw attrition to further development, collaboration, an alliance with institution and NGO both within Tanga, Tanzania and other African countries, as well as Norwegian partners to develop research and enhance quality in higher education.

The conference is a joint effort to discuss experience and set a way forward to developed more effort for community development and social entrepreneurships. We welcome oral presentation and posters that relate to the ongoing activities at TICC but also experiences and research from other settings in Africa that we can learn from.

The conference presents research and experiential learning in the areas of competence development, community development and social entrepreneurship, and welcome papers, posters or essential contributions to the TICC’s Mission.
